August Becker (1821/22 - 1887) was active/lived in Germany.  August Becker is known for Painting.

August Becker was born in 1821.   The Darmstadt born August Becker was a German landscape painter. 

He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Düsseldorf around the mid-19th century under Wilhelm Schirmer.  Study trips brought him to Switzerland, Tirol, Norway and Scotland.

Through his brother, who worked in London, Becker came in contact with the English royal house.  The artist was guided by the tradition of the 19th century, and primarily painted large-scale and atmospheric landscapes.

August Becker passed away in 1887.
